3 days in northern Rocha
Barra del Chuy and Santa Teresa in 3 days: itinerary
Three days are enough to combine Barra del Chuy, Santa Teresa and one additional outing without turning the trip into a race. The strongest plan uses one base, gives one day to Barra, one to Santa Teresa National Park and leaves the third flexible for the border or Punta del Diablo depending on weather and interests.
Day 1: Barra del Chuy and the Chuy stream
The first day works well with a long beach walk, the Chuy stream area, pier and viewpoints, leaving time to settle in and buy supplies. If arrival is early, Chuy can be added late in the day for groceries or a first border visit. Avoiding a long excursion immediately keeps the trip flexible and less tiring.
Day 2: Santa Teresa National Park
Santa Teresa deserves several hours because it combines a fortress, gardens, trails, beaches and wildlife areas. Arriving early and choosing two or three priorities is usually better than rushing across the whole park. Families can focus on the fortress, gardens and easier circuits, while other travelers can add longer walks or beach time when weather permits.
Day 3: Chuy, Punta del Diablo or the northern coast
The final day can match the group. Border-focused travelers may spend it in Chuy, while others can choose Punta del Diablo or La Coronilla for another coastal setting. Keeping one accommodation base avoids packing repeatedly and makes it easy to rearrange days according to wind, rain and attraction opening conditions.
