Choose a town around the family’s rhythm
La Paloma is often a versatile base because it combines beaches, grocery stores and services. Barra del Chuy and La Coronilla can work well for quieter family stays, while Punta del Diablo feels more informal and active during peak season. With younger children, everyday logistics can matter as much as the beach setting.
House, cabin or apartment for a longer stay
For a week or more, a usable kitchen, outdoor grill, exterior space, parking, laundry and ventilation can make a major difference. Check stairs, fencing, shade and access when a property is reached by sandy or less-developed roads. A calmer location can be more useful than being directly on the waterfront.
