Configure Alojalu DNS by provider in Uruguay
Step-by-step guide to add A, CNAME and TXT records with common Uruguayan domain providers and Cloudflare.
Before changing DNS
Check the current nameservers first. The company where you bought the domain may not be the company hosting its DNS.
Do not change nameservers just to connect Alojalu. Keeping the existing zone avoids breaking MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
Always use the values shown under Dashboard → Custom domain: A for @, CNAME for www and TXT _alojalu-verify.
NIC.UY / SeCIU
- 1
Sign in to NIC.UY and open the domain you manage.
- 2
Review the name servers (NS). If DNS is delegated elsewhere, make the changes with that provider.
- 3
If you manage the zone there, add exactly the A @, CNAME www and TXT _alojalu-verify records shown by Alojalu.
- 4
Save, wait for propagation and return to Alojalu to verify.
ANTEL / Dominios UY
- 1
Open your domain management and confirm where the DNS zone is hosted.
- 2
If DNS is managed there, create or update A @ with the Alojalu IP.
- 3
Create CNAME www and TXT _alojalu-verify with the dashboard values.
- 4
Do not delete email records, then press Verify in Alojalu.
NetGate
- 1
Confirm the domain NS point to the DNS service managed by NetGate.
- 2
If you have a DNS editor, add the A, CNAME and TXT records exactly as shown in Alojalu.
- 3
If your plan requires support-managed DNS, send the type, name and value of all three records without requesting a nameserver change.
- 4
When they are publicly visible, verify from Alojalu.
HostingenlaWeb / RegistraTu.UY
- 1
Open the domain panel and review its nameservers.
- 2
If DNS is managed there, add A @, CNAME www and TXT _alojalu-verify.
- 3
If you only registered the domain there and the NS point to Cloudflare or another host, edit DNS with that third party.
- 4
Keep all existing email configuration.
Montevideo COMM
- 1
Verify that Montevideo COMM is the authoritative DNS provider for the domain.
- 2
From the zone editor, add the three records shown by Alojalu.
- 3
If your service has no editor, send support the exact values without changing MX/SPF/DKIM/DMARC.
- 4
Wait for propagation and verify.
Intersys Uruguay
- 1
Confirm the NS are hosted by Intersys.
- 2
If the service uses cPanel, open Zone Editor.
- 3
Create A @, CNAME www and TXT _alojalu-verify with the dashboard values.
- 4
Do not recreate the entire zone; only change the required web records.
Netuy
- 1
Open the domain self-managed DNS service.
- 2
Add A for @ with the IP shown by Alojalu.
- 3
Add CNAME www and TXT _alojalu-verify.
- 4
Save and verify after propagation.
Hosting Montevideo
- 1
Check whether the zone is managed in their DNS panel or cPanel.
- 2
Add A @, CNAME www and TXT _alojalu-verify.
- 3
If NS point to a third party, make the change there.
- 4
Do not delete records that support domain email.
Cloudflare
- 1
Open DNS → Records for the relevant zone.
- 2
Create A @ and CNAME www with Alojalu values and initially keep them DNS only (gray cloud).
- 3
Create the _alojalu-verify TXT record; TXT records are not proxied.
- 4
Verify in Alojalu. Once stable, test any later proxy change without breaking HTTPS or the original Host.
Common issues
A record is correct but verification fails: check www too and make sure the TXT exactly matches the dashboard.
Some devices open the old site: look for an inherited AAAA from the previous host.
DNS is correct but SSL is pending: if CAA exists it must authorize letsencrypt.org.
Email stopped working: restore MX/SPF/DKIM/DMARC; Alojalu does not require deleting them.
