Things to do in La Floresta: beach, sculpture and heritage
La Floresta combines the wooded seaside character of Costa de Oro with an unusually strong cultural identity for a beach town. Beyond the coast and promenade, public sculpture and historic buildings create a trip that does not depend entirely on summer weather.
Sculpture Walk and waterfront
The promenade displays works by Uruguayan and international artists created through biennials and cultural projects. The route pairs public art with coastal scenery and works best as an unhurried walk through plazas, viewpoints, pergolas and the area around Sarandí stream.
Beach and resort heritage
The beach remains central in summer, but buildings such as the former La Floresta Hotel reveal the history of the resort. A multi-day stay can also include Atlántida, Costa Azul and Parque del Plata while keeping La Floresta as the quieter base.
