City stay or wine-country base
Mendoza city is practical for walking, dining and joining tours without relying as much on a car. Maipú and Luján de Cuyo offer a different atmosphere with vineyards and wineries closer by, but transfers need more planning. On a short trip, one well-chosen base and a compact itinerary can be more relaxing than moving between several areas.
